Brownie Batter Protein Balls

Updated: Feb 2, 2023

These Brownie Batter Protein Balls are the snack that you never knew you needed in your life - and once you have them you may never go back.

They are the perfect blend of sweet and gooey and taste like they are straight from the bowl of brownie batter - and yet they are full of protein and nutrient-rich goodness to satisfy your hunger and keep you fuller for longer.

I made the mistake of letting my kids try them - and they are just as obsessed as I am - looks like this recipe will be on repeat over here or I'm going to have to start hiding them so they can't get their cute little fingers on them.

Whether you have these as a dessert, a mid-day snack or on the go - I hope you enjoy them as much as we do in this house!

Brownie Batter Protein Balls

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. cacao powder

  • 3/4 c. almond butter

  • 3 T. maple syrup

  • 2 T. chia seeds

  • 1 scoop protein powder (I used vanilla because that's what I have but chocolate would be amazing too!)

  • 1 t. vanilla

  • 1/4 t. sea salt

  • 2-3 T. chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients, except the chocolate chips together in a large mixing bowl. It's OK if the mixture is a bit crumbly (you'll roll them at the end) but if you find them too crumbly, simply add a bit more almond butter and mix well.

  2. Once mixed; stir in the chocolate chips.

  3. Refrigerate for 10-15 to let the mixture set.

  4. Remove from refrigerator and roll into small balls (about 1 inch round). Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Enjoy! :)
